LEGO® Introduction to Robotics

Visualize, create, and build using LEGO® Education kits. Develop skills in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) in this hands-on class, while exploring simple machines such as screws, levers, pulleys, wheels, and axles. Build variety of projects including drills, windmills, hand wavers, zip lines, cranes, universal joints, cars, helicopters, and more! Time-permitting, a new LEGO® education product called BricQMotion, Essential and Prime, will be introduced.

LEGO® Robotics Intermediate and Advanced

Watch as your LEGO® creations come to life with code! Develop skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) as you are introduced to WeDo, wireless WeDo 2.0, LEGO® Boost and Simple & Powered Machines Sets. Gradually progress to Mindstorms NXT, NXT 2.0, EV3 featuring working motors, sensors, and coding. Time permitting, a new LEGO® education kit called SPIKE will be introduced. No previous experience required. Computers and iPads will be supplied.

Scratch and Scratch Jr Coding

Learn to code using Scratch for ages 7 and up and ScratchJr for ages 5 to 7. Both coding programs were created by the Lifelong Kindergarten group, part of the MIT Media Lab, Boston. Both programs help young people to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively—essential skills for life in the 21st century. iPads will be supplied.

Zen Maker Lab - Aerospace Journey to Mars

Experience an astronaut’s journey from Earth to Mars! Build your own spaceship with LED components, buzzer, switcher and launcher. Through design and modeling, experience what it takes to survive a trip to Mars. Activities include mathematic calculations, scientific experiments, 3D design, and scratch programming.

Zen Maker Lab - 3D Printing and 3D Design

3D printing and 3D designs are the present and future of manufacturing, medicine, architecture, engineering, design, and many other areas of technology. Learn about cutting-edge 3D design and 3D printing technology and design and print new 3D designs every session in this hands-on program! Learn about 3D design fundamentals and how to create 3D prototypes and 3D designs that involve moving parts from a single design. All supplies are included. Participants can use their own laptop, Chromebook, or one of our computers.
